Entry Deadline is Monday for many Missouri State Fair Contests
June 29, 2012, Sedalia, MO – Monday, July 2, is the deadline for entering 4-H and FFA livestock shows and contests at this year’s Missouri State Fair. This is also the deadline for cattle, goats, llamas, mules, poultry, rabbits, sheep and swine entries, according to Missouri State Fair Director Mark Wolfe.
Deadlines for other amateur and professional entries are also approaching. Entry forms in home economics and fine arts must be submitted by July 20, while Missouri State Fair Queen hopefuls and parade entrants have until July 15 and July 23, respectively. A full list of entry deadlines, plus rules and forms are available in the online Premium Guide at www.mostatefair.com/premium-guide. Forms may be submitted electronically, faxed or mailed.
New this year, entry applications may be submitted via email. Entry, camping and vendor input forms, including credit card information, may be emailed as an attachment to email@example.com.
Exhibitors should follow these steps to submit entry forms:
1. In the online Premium Guide, select the category or categories of interest
2. Read the rules and schedules
3. Download the entry form(s)
4. Complete the form(s), sign and follow the directions for submission found at the top of each form.
The same steps apply for submitting reserved camping forms. Reserved campsites, available for livestock exhibitors, commercial vendors and persons with disabilities, open Sunday, Aug. 5. The public campground opens at 9 a.m. Aug. 2 and does not accept reservations.
Exhibitors under age 13 will again be admitted free to the 11-day Fair, while exhibitors age 13 and older can purchase up to 40 single-day exhibitor admission tickets at a special price of $4. The discounted exhibitor tickets are available on entry forms and from the Fair’s business office until Aug. 8. The tickets do not include parking, and will not be available at the gate.
