Missouri State Fair will Git-R-Done with Great Weekend Events
August 17, 2012, Sedalia, MO – Larry The Cable Guy and Reno Collier will perform in the Pepsi Grandstand tonight at the Missouri State Fair, kicking off an outstanding line-up for the Fair’s final weekend. Tickets to the 7:30 p.m. show start at $25, and are available at the Fair’s Box Office.
Missouri State Fair Director Mark Wolfe said the Missouri Electric Cooperatives is the sponsor of the day, which is named, “MEC Day/GIT-R-DONE FRIDAY!” The day will offer concession specials and friendly competitions, including a GIT-R-DONE Challenge–top 10 must-dos at the Fair, and a Larry The Cable Guy Look Alike Contest, with the winner earning back stage passes to meet Larry. Hank Williams Jr. Taking Back the Country Tour will be the final concert at this year’s Fair, appearing Saturday with special guest star George Thorogood and the Destroyers. Tickets to the 7:30 p.m. show start at $30, and are also available at the Box Office. Concertgoers will enjoy singing along to classic tunes such as “All My Rowdy Friends are Coming Over Tonight” and “Bad to the Bone.”
The Fair ends with auto races in the Pepsi Grandstand Sunday, Aug. 19. Racing on the historic half-mile dirt track will be Lucas Oil MLRA Late Models, ASCS Warrior Region 360 Sprints and Modifieds. Hot laps start at 5:30 p.m., followed by heat races at 6 p.m. Tickets are $18/adult, $15/senior and military, and $8/ages 6-12, also on sale at the Box Office.
