Located in a new spot just east of the Mathewson Exhibition Center, the "Old and Wow" Tractor and Equipment Show will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday, Aug 13 and 14 during the 2013 Missouri State Fair! The show is sponsored by Crown Power and Equipment of LaMonte.

It's CLUCK CLUCK TUESDAY- time for a random "Chicks Dig It" chicken fact! Roosters perform a little dance called ‘tidbitting’ in which they make sounds (food calls) and move their head up and down, picking up and dropping a bit of food. Researchers have found that females prefer males that often perform tidbitting and have larger, brighter combs on top of their heads. (Source: Smithsonian.com)

Missouri State Fair Sale of Champions is this Saturday

August 17, 2012, Sedalia, MO –The annual Sale of Champions is a highlight of the Missouri State Fair, which will be held tomorrow beginning at 3 p.m. in the Lowell Mohler Assembly Hall. The auction will be televised online at www.liveauctions.com, and will also be aired live and on the internet by radio station KMMO AM 1300. Monies raised from the auction will benefit Missouri youth involved in agriculture.

Wayne Yokley, Chairman of the Missouri State Fair Youth in Agriculture Committee, and Superintendent of the Sale of Champions, said the Sale’s success is credited due to the support from our Youth in Agriculture sponsors. Proceeds from the Sale go to the exhibitors and to Youth in Agriculture scholarships. Since 1992, the Youth in Agriculture Committee has awarded scholarships totaling close to $300,000.
