Gates Swing Open Today at the 110th Missouri State Fair
August 9, 2012, Sedalia, MO – Thousands of fairgoers will celebrate the 110th Missouri State Fair today with discounted gate admission, the Opening Day ceremony and parade, and Farm Toy Show. Tonight, the Randy Rogers Band and Wade Bowen will kick off the Pepsi Grandstand concert series at 7:30 p.m.
“Affordability and quality entertainment are foundations of the Missouri State Fair experience,” said Missouri State Fair Director Mark Wolfe, “making today an especially economical day to be at the Fair.”
Fairgoers can enjoy $2 gate admission today with Opening Day Two Buck Bonanza, while kids ages 5 years old and younger have free admission every day. Discounted admission specials extend through the rest of the Fair, with $5 admission after 5 p.m., $4 admission on Thrifty Thursday Aug. 18 and on Fair Finale, Sunday, Aug. 19. Free entertainment opportunities are also available throughout the 11-day Fair, including musical performances at the Budweiser Stage and humorous, hands-on performances at the Kids’ Stage, Touchstone Energy Stage and Show-Me Tents. As Missouri’s largest agricultural showcase, the State Fair also features the Rural Lifestyles Showcase throughout 15 buildings during the Fair, as well as competitive exhibits and livestock shows.
