New Improvements on the Fairgrounds


Welcome back Fairgoers! Missouri State Fair Staff has been very busy here on the fairgrounds getting ready for that 11-day Fair rush that is coming up on us soon!

Fair staff work hard to maintain the historic 396-acre grounds. We thought you might like to get a sneak peak at some of the improvements you’ll see during your 2016 Fair visit!

Some of the improvements include:

Sheep Pavilion


  • NEW portable pens installed in south and west sections of the barn
  • NEW electric and water services
  • NEW scales for both Sheep and Goat weigh-ins

4-H Building Electric Theater

  • NEW display area
  • Seating upgrades
  • Lighting upgrades

 Swine Pavilion

  • NEW set of scales to weigh-in
  • Eight NEW big fans in the West Annex

Beef House

  • NEW breezeway

Funded by the Missouri Cattlemen’s Association and State of Missouri

Children’s Barnyard


  • Updated roof
  • NEW floor and electrical
  • NEW big fans
  • NEW pens and gates for the animals
