Truck and Tractor Entertainment Rev Up at the Missouri State Fair
July 24, 2012, Sedalia, MO – Truck and tractor pull fans will have several opportunities to enjoy the sport at this year’s Missouri State Fair, as some favorite shows are returning and a new show is introduced showcasing new and vintage agriculture equipment. The new show, The Old and Wow Tractor and Equipment Show, will be held Aug. 14-15.
“The long-time favorite, Missouri Association Championship Truck and Tractor Pull, will be held again this year,” said Missouri State Fair Director Mark Wolfe. “Qualifying and final rounds will be held in the Pepsi Grandstand Sunday and Monday, Aug. 12-13.”
Tickets for the 1 p.m. show both days are $12 for adults and $5 for ages 6 to 12, with ticket prices for the 7 p.m. shows $15 and $6, respectively. An all day ticket either day is $20 for adults and $9 for ages 6 to 12. Entry forms from contestants will be accepted through Aug. 1 and are available in the online Premium Guide at www.mostatefair.com.
“The Old & Wow Tractor and Equipment Show is free, sponsored by Crown Power and Equipment of LaMonte,” said Wolfe. “This new show exemplifies the Fair’s theme, “Celebrate Then and Wow.” Fairgoers can enjoy seeing the vintage and new agriculture equipment in operation.”
The equipment will be on display from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Aug. 14 near the Coliseum. Events this day will include the Parade of Power inside the Coliseum at 1:30 p.m., followed by tractor operator competitions at 2:30 p.m. A walk through parade will be held at 1:30 p.m. Aug. 15, with the display open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Tractor pulls returning to the State Fair Arena, sponsored by Toyota, this year include a 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Antique, Classic and Farm Tractor Pull Aug. 15. A ticket, that includes both show times, is $8 for adults and $5 for seniors; a ticket for the 6 p.m. show only is $7 and $4, respectively. Children ages and 5 and under are free.
The Garden and Mini Rod Pull will also be held in the State Fair Arena beginning at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. Aug. 16. The Missouri Stock Antique- Classic Tractor Pullers Association Show will be held at 1 p.m. These shows are free to the public.
Tickets to Missouri State Fair events and concerts are on sale now at Tickemaster.com, and the State Fair Box Office, which is open from noon to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. During the Fair, the Box Office hours will be 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
