Highlights for Wednesday, Aug 14, Senior Appreciation Day

“Come Home” for smiles and fun at the 117th Missouri State Fair and Senior Appreciation Day, Wednesday, Aug. 14, sponsored by the Sedalia Democrat! Fairgoers can enjoy $2 off adult & senior gate admission with the special front page sticker available on the Aug. 14 Sedalia Democrat newspaper. Check out the following daily highlights for the day:

Full day of livestock shows and competitive exhibits including beef cattle, draft horse sled pull, rabbits, and sheep, Federated Garden Clubs Show, Home Economics foods and household arts

Free grounds entertainment all day with Allez-OOPS! Circus Comedy on the Touchstone Energy Stage and the Mariachi Divas strolling the fairgrounds, plus more!

Senior Day Activities in the Mathewson Exhibition Center starting at 9 a.m.

Antique Classic Tractor Pull in the State Fair Arena, sponsored by Husqvarna, at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Day of Dancing in the Lowell Mohler Assembly Hall starting at 10 a.m.

Smokey Bear Dance Party in the Conservation Building at 1 p.m.

Missouri Stock Antique-Classic Tractor Pull in the State Fair Arena, sponsored by Husqvarna, at 1 p.m.

Ham demonstrations in the Agriculture Building from 2 – 4 p.m.

Concert Tickets Available

Tickets to all Missouri State Fair concert and events are on sale now. This includes the Pepsi Grandstand concert series, auto races, tractor pulls, State Fair Arena events and the Governor’s Ham Breakfast. These tickets will be available through Etix and also at the Missouri State Fair Box Office, located on the fairgrounds in Sedalia. Box Office hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 5-7 and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily during the Fair, Aug. 8-18.

The Pepsi Grandstand is the venue for eight concerts, two tractor pulls and one auto race this year. Children two and under are free to all Pepsi Grandstand concerts, but must sit on an adult’s lap. Children five and under are free for tractor pulls and auto races, but must sit on an adult’s lap. Ticket prices do not include Fair gate admission.
