Exhibitor Entry Forms for State Fair Competitions

(SEDALIA, Mo.) – Missouri State Fair exhibitors and fans can start making plans for 2008 as competition entry information and other time-sensitive events will soon be released for the 11-day-event set for August 7 to 17 in Sedalia, according to Fair Director Marion Lucas.

Specifics on almost all events including dates, times, rules and forms can be found in the Premium Guide, a comprehensive tool for fair participants, Lucas said. The guide is now available on the web site at www.mostatefair.com, and access to entry forms will be available here starting May 5. Most competitions have deadlines, Lucas noted, which will also be posted.

Camping reservations during the event is another piece of the fair experience enthusiasts need to confirm early, according to Lucas. "Public campgrounds open Saturday, July 26, with a fee of $20 a day per vehicle. Reserved campgrounds open Sunday, August 3, and are only available for livestock exhibitors, concessionaires and persons with disabilities," he said. "Camping reservations will be accepted with completed entry forms beginning May 5, and these forms can also be obtained at our web site."

New this year, Lucas said, are daily discounted exhibitor admission tickets to all competitive entrants for $4 each. He added that this ticket replaces the former Livestock Exhibitor Pin, which is no longer available. The daily discounted exhibitor admission tickets can be purchased through August 6th from the Missouri State Fair business office; these tickets will not be available at the gate.

Lucas said that each exhibitor can purchase up to 40 tickets; admission is free for exhibitors age 12 and under and so these exhibitors do not need admission tickets. The tickets do not include parking. He recommended that exhibitors refer to special promotions at www.mostatefair.com for any daily admission specials.
