Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion Lambs Announced

(SEDALIA, Mo.) – Brady Minear, of the Showbox Kidz 4-H Club, was awarded the Grand Champion trophy for his market lamb at the 2007 Missouri State Fair. Minear’s crossbred lamb weighed 131 pounds. Minear is the son of Brent and Margaret Minear of Livonia.

The Reserve Grand Champion honor went to Jake Campbell of Green City, Mo. The champion Crossbred lamb weighed 136 pounds. Campbell is the son of Terry and Tammy Campbell. Campbell is a member of the Green City FFA Chapter.

On August 18th, 2007, Minear and Campbell’s Market Lambs will be two of the 12 lots offered in the Youth in Agriculture Sale of Champions. Proceeds from the annual sale benefit both the winners and the Missouri State Fair Youth in Agriculture Scholarship Program. Due to the generous support of Youth in Agriculture sponsors, the Missouri State Fair is able to award scholarships to Missouri youth pursuing a degree in an agriculture-related field.
