Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion Steer Named at the Missouri State Fair
(SEDALIA, Mo.) – The Grand Champion Steer at the 2007 Missouri State Fair went to Allie Massa of Lamar, Mo. Her Crossbred steer weighed 1260 pounds. Allie is the daughter of Russ and Denny Massa. She is a member of the Liberal FFA Chapter.
The Reserve Grand Champion Steer went to Kristin Dilly, daughter of Kevin and Dolynn Dilly of Deerfield, Mo. Her Crossbred steer weighed 1280 pounds. She is a member of the Clayton 4-H Club.
On August 18th, 2007, Massa and Dilly’s steers will be two of 12 lots offered in the Youth in Agriculture Sale of Champions. Proceeds from the annual sale benefit both the winners and the Missouri State Fair Youth in Agriculture Scholarship Program.
Due to the generous support of Youth in Agriculture sponsors, the Missouri State Fair is able to award scholarships to Missouri youth pursuing a degree in an agriculture-related field. Last year, twenty five $1,000 scholarships and one supreme $2,500 scholarship were awarded.
