Missouri Electric Cooperatives Day Highlights

Gather at the Missouri State Fair on Friday, Aug. 20, for Missouri Electric Cooperatives (MEC) Day. Be one of the first 1,500 visitors to the MEC Building on this day and receive a FREE night light. Rural Missouri Magazine will feature $5 off coupon for an unlimited carnival ride wristband, valid Aug. 20 only. View the building schedule on our website.

Below are highlights for Friday, Aug. 20:
Sea Lion Splash, sponsored by AOK RVs, west of the Agriculture Building, with shows at 1 p.m., 4:30 p.m. and 6:45 p.m.
Scott’s World of Magic Show at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m., located north of the Carnival entrance.
• Great free entertainment including Hard Days Nights and The Chipper Experience! Where Comedy and Magic Collide! on the Touchstone Energy Stage and Puppies of Penzance and Flyin’ Hawaiian on the Kids Stage, sponsored by your local McDonald’s.
• Homegrown Singer Contest Semi Final Round, sponsored by Bimbo Bakeries USA, at 4 p.m. on the Budweiser Stage.
Livestock shows and competitive exhibit contests, including dairy and beef cattle, swine, goats, gypsy horse shows, floriculture and home economics.
Draft Horse Hitches at 6 p.m. in the Mathewson Exhibition Center.
Military Flag Retreat Ceremony honoring Marilyn Villegas of Odessa, sponsored by Capital Materials, Starline Brass and Retrieving Freedom, at 6 p.m. by the flagpole located near the Highway Patrol Building and Centennial ticket booth.
• Frankie Ballard with Alex Miller at 7:30 p.m. in the State Fair Grandstand, presented by CFM Insurance; tickets available for purchase online or at the State Fair Box Office.
• Bull Riding Competition, presented by Area RAM Dealers, at 8 p.m. in the State Fair Arena; tickets available for purchase online or at the State Fair Box Office.
• Dirt Road Addiction performing from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. on the Budweiser Stage.

Youth in Agriculture Day

Come celebrate with us for Youth in Agriculture Day, Saturday, Aug. 21!

Celebrate Youth in Agriculture Day on Saturday, Aug. 21 at the Missouri State Fair! The day is sponsored by the Missouri Department of Agriculture, and will feature special offers for youth at select concessions and vendors.

The highlight of Youth in Agriculture Day is the annual Sale of Champions at 1:30 p.m. in the Lowell Mohler Assembly Hall. The Sale of Champions auction event recognizes the accomplishments of young agriculturalists and their top tier livestock projects: Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion steers, barrows, lambs, meat goats, pen of chickens and pen of rabbits from 4-H and FFA livestock shows and hams and bacons. This is an event that you won’t want to miss! Show your support for our youth in agriculture and all their hard work!

Another highly anticipated event on Saturday, Aug. 21 are the Draft Horse Hitches  competitions in the Mathewson Exhibition Center. The popular Show-Me Classic class will complete the show featuring six-horse hitches entries in the show ring.

August 22 is Family Preparedness/Half Price Day, sponsored by Missouri Department of Public Safety – State Emergency Management

Enjoy the final day of the 2021 Missouri State Fair by receiving half price adult admission at the gate and $1 admission for children ages 6-12! Select vendors and concession stands will have half-priced deals all day long. Unlimited carnival ride wristbands are also half-priced for only $17 on the final Sunday.

Get your tickets now for the Winged Sprint Cars, POWRi Non Winged Spring Cars and Late Model races in the State Fair Grandstand,, presented by CFM Insurance, on Aug. 22, starting with Hot Laps at 6 p.m. and Heat Races beginning at 7 p.m. Gear up to watch the Demolition Derby starting at 2 p.m. in the State Fair Arena; Tickets on sale now.
