Celebrate Missouri Department of Conservation Day
Join us at the Missouri State Fair on Friday, Aug. 11, for Missouri Department of Conservation Day. Fairgoers can visit the Conservation Building for live animal exhibits all day and the invasive carp fish fry demonstration at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
Other great events/attractions planned for Aug. 11 include:
- Show-Me Showcase, sponsored by 16/65 Digital, at 2 p.m., Clay Clear Band at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. and Soul Root at 9 p.m. on the Budweiser Stage.
- Free entertainment including Mr. Stinky Feet and the Chicago Honey Bear Dancers on the Kid’s Stage, sponsored by Your Local McDonald’s. Cirque Zuma Zuma and Motown & More on the Touchstone Energy Stage. Other shows include ShenaniGuns Comedy Wild West Show, sponsored by AOK RVs, and the WOW Water Circus.
- Biggest and Best Bell Bottom Contest will be held at 6 p.m. on the Touchstone Energy Stage. Throw on your favorite pair of bell bottoms and channel your inner Lainey Wilson for this fun contest.
- Livestock shows include beef cattle, draft mules, lamb, and swine shows.
- Competitive events will take place in the Floriculture and Home Economics Buildings. Check out the Show-Me State Tailgate Barbecue Contest.
- The Exceptional Rodeo will kick off at 10 a.m. in the Mathewson Exhibition Center.
- Military Flag Retreat Ceremony, sponsored by Capital Materials, Starline Brass and Retrieving Freedom, will take place at 5:30 p.m. in front of the Historic Administration Building.
- Cowboy Mounted Shooting, sponsored by Starline Brass, qualifying rounds continuing from Aug 10. start at 2:30 p.m. with the Starline Showcase Shootout beginning at 6 p.m. in the Mathewson Exhibition Center.
- MRCA Show-Me State Rodeo starts at 7 p.m. in the State Fair Arena; tickets are available for purchase.
- The sold out concert featuring Lainey Wilson with Jackson Dean will start at 7:30 p.m. in the State Fair Grandstand, presented by CFM Insurance.

Join Us For Missouri Electric Cooperatives Day
Friday, Aug. 18 is Missouri Electric Cooperatives (MEC) Day at the Missouri State Fair. MEC is offering LED nightlights to the first 1,500 visitors to the MEC Building on this day. Catch a live line demo featuring basic safety, energy distribution, equipment, linemen and more out front of the MEC Building at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Events/attractions planned for Aug. 18 include:
- Show-Me Showcase, sponsored by 16/65 Digital, at 2 p.m., Phil Vandel at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. and Dirt Road Addiction at 9 p.m. on the Budweiser Stage.
- Draft Horse Hitches, sponsored by Wolfe Agricultural Auctions, will begin at 5 p.m. in the Mathewson Exhibition Center.
- Livestock shows include dairy and beef cattle, gypsy horses, dairy goats, and swine shows.
- Competitive events include cooking contests in the Home Economics Building, dahlia show, and the dairy goat milking contest.
- Military Flag Retreat Ceremony, sponsored by Capital Materials, Starline Brass and Retrieving Freedom, at 5:30 p.m. in front of the Historic Administration Building.
- Bull Riding Competition at 8 p.m. in the State Fair Arena; tickets are available for purchase.

State Fair Equine Shows Starting Soon
Missouri State Fair season is upon us and how about adding seeing an equine show to your list of State Fair traditions!
The first official State Fair livestock show starts next week with the 4-H and FFA Horse Show kicking off on Thursday, July 27 through July 30. The show is open to the public and will take place in the Mathewson Exhibition Center, Donnelly Area and Coliseum. Additional equine events begin on Friday, Aug. 11, and continue through the last day of the Fair, Sunday, Aug. 20. This year’s shows include the following:
