Do-Re-Mi-Fa-So-La-Ti- Warm up your singing voice, you don’t want to miss out on one of our favorite traditions, the Homegrown Singer Contest, sponsored by Bimbo Bakeries USA, on the Budweiser Stage. Singers from all over the state will compete in this vocal talent event bringing loads of fun, friendly and family entertainment.

While having Buckets of Fun at the Fair, be sure to stop by the Budweiser Tent and listen to all of the talented individuals who are competing for the grand prize of $500 and a chance to sing at the 2023 Fair. Preliminary rounds start at 4 p.m. on Aug. 11 – 14, semifinal rounds start at 4 p.m. on Aug. 18 – 20, and final rounds start at 2 p.m. on Aug. 21.

Entries and auditions to compete in the Homegrown Singer Contest are being accepted through July 22. Interested contestants should visit the State Fair website, complete the entry form and send in an Mp3 or YouTube audition to

Music ranges from the 50s the 90s, Red Dirt Country, Southern Rock, Contemporary and more! These new and returning artists will have you singing and dancing all night long!

Free Entertainment for all Ages

There’s free entertainment for all ages that you won’t want to miss!

Each year, the Missouri State Fair offers performances, entertainment and exhibits for fairgoers, all of which are included in the cost of gate admission!

The Ditzfeld Stage will include some new acts and some of your returning favorites. New on the Touchstone Energy Stage is The Groovy Guy Show, MoTown & More and Women of Rock.

If you want great old-fashioned fun, the Paul Bunyan Lumberjack Show is packed with competition and plenty of laughter. You can see Xgames medalists, BMX Pros Trick Team, sponsored AOK RVs, throughout the 11-day event, too!

Kids will have a blast with entertainment on the Kids Stage, sponsored by your local McDonald’s, including the Circus Science Spectacular and Mark Hayward, Yo-Yoer and Juggler.

And don’t forget about all of the amazing exhibits, entertainment and more as you enjoy “Buckets of Fun” at the 2022 Missouri State Fair, Aug 11-21, in Sedalia!
