Obtaining Media Credentials

Media badges, as well as parking permits, are for use only by members of the working media who have been assigned to cover stories at the 2023 Missouri State Fair. These badges and passes will not be issued to family, friends, sales staff or employees who are not covering the Fair.

At the Fair

Upon arrival and departure, media must sign in and out at the Marketing and Publicity office located on the south end of the MEC Building.

The Fair Marketing and Publicity office will manage all media requests. The office is open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. during the Fair on the south end of the MEC Building. Prior to August 1, requests will be handled by the Marketing office located in the lower level of the Fair’s Administrative Offices west of the Mathewson Exhibition Center.

A media lounge, sponsored by the Missouri’s Electric Cooperatives, is located in the Marketing and Publicity office in the MEC Building. Phones, workspace, and supplies are available for use by the working media.

Live radio broadcast capabilities are available from our Broadcast Booth, located in the MEC Building and made available throughout the Missouri State Fair 11-day event. Stations from around the state may take advantage of this facility and broadcast live while on the fairgrounds. To reserve your 2-hour slot, call 660-530-5610. A full broadband internet and standard telephone line will be available at no cost.

News Conferences/Interviews

The Missouri State Fair Commissioners and Fair Director will be available for interviews. The Marketing Director will arrange interviews at your request. The Marketing & Publicity staff will also be happy to help you contact winners, exhibitors and superintendents for interviews.

Press Conferences

Press conferences are to be determined. If you would like to be added to our press conference email list, please email us at mostatefair@mda.mo.gov to request to be added.

Transportation

Golf carts are sponsored by the Missouri’s Electric Cooperatives for the working media on a first-come, first-served basis, with an enforced two-hour limit. These carts are for use on assignment only and designated cart routes must be observed at all times.

After the Fair

Proof of publication for all media requesting badges or passes will be requested by the Marketing and Publicity office after the 2024 Fair.
