Stops Locations Include:

Midway Stop
Location: Carnival Midway

  • The Ferris Wheel was invented in 1893 for the Chicago World’s Fair by George W. Ferris.
  • The first Ferris Wheel had two 1,000 horsepower reversible engines.
  • The Giant Wheel is over 100’ tall. Each gondola can set 6/8 adults or children comfortably.
  • Thank you, Wade Shows, for bringing the Giant Wheel to the MSF!

Quack Stop
Location: World’s Largest Rubber Duck

  • The World’s Largest Duck is MORE THAN 6 STORIES Tall at 61 feet high, 64 feet wide & 74 feet long.
  • The World’s Largest Duck has been affectionately referred to Mama Duck & is frequently accompanied her is her baby Duck Timmy, who is 10 feet tall.
  • Mama Duck’s mission is the spread happiness & love wherever she goes and gently remind others to enjoy our outdoor spaces wisely, preserving them for generations to come!

Enormous Stop
Location: Agriculture Building near the largest watermelon, pumpkin & tomato display

  • How do this year’s largest watermelon & largest pumpkin compare to last year’s winners?
    • Last year’s largest watermelon weighed 175.5 pounds.
    • Last year’s largest pumpkin weighed 936.5 pounds.
    • Last year’s largest tomato weighed 2.947 pounds.
  • An average watermelon weighs 20 pounds.
  • An average pumpkin weighs 13 pounds.
  • An average tomato weighs 0.4 pounds.

Family Fun Stop
Location: Family Fun Center

  • The Family Fun Center is one of the original buildings on the State Fairgrounds, built in 1903.
  • The building has actually gone through severval names and uses over the years including the Poultry Building, Dairy Building, & FFA Building just to name a few.
  • Inside you will find great activities for families with babies & small children all in the air-conditioning!

Innovation Stop
Location: Missouri S&T Booth

  • Missouri S&T was founded in 1870, & you’ll find nods to their mining roots all over their campus in Rolla.
  • S&T is the only Missouri university in The Wall Street Journal’s top 10 list of universities with the best salaries for graduates.
  • Their STEM Mobile travels to schools & community events across Missouri, offering hands-on activities that spark curiosity wherever students learn.

Protect & Serve Stop
Location: Highway Patrol Office

  • You will find troopers all across the Fair grounds. They monitor all event areas including the parking lots & camp grounds.
  • Did you know the Highway Patrol covers more than just Missouri highways? They also have aircrafts & water patrol.
  • The Highway Patrol’s mission is to serve & protect all people by enforcing laws & providing service to ensure a safe and secure environment.

Cattle Stop
Location: East side of the Coliseum

  • The Coliseum was built in 1906. Four US presidents have spoken in this historic building.
    • William Howard Taft 1911
    • Harry S. Truman 1955
    • Ronald Reagan 1984
    • George W. Bush 2004
  • The Coliseum hosts beef & dairy cattle shows during the annual State Fair as well as equine shows throughout the off-season.
  • Over 2,500 head of cattle were shown at the Fair last year.

Sheep & Goat Stop
Location: Near the Sheep Pavilion

  • The Sheep Pavilion was built in 1965 & renovated in 2020. It hosts sheep & dairy goat shows.
  • You better BAAAA-lieve it! Both sheep & goats have rectangular pupils that allow them to have a 270 to 320 degree field of vision.
  • Over 2,200 head of sheep & over 500 head of dairy goats were shown at the Fair last year.

Stop & Smell the Flowers Stop
Location: Floriculture Building

  • The Floriculture Building was built in 1930 & displays plants grown across Missouri.
  • The Floriculture Building was a part of WPA which helped to build & improve public infrastructure & make jobs during the Great Depression.
  • The Floriculture Building features entries such as the photography show, trash to treasure exhibits & Missouri Master Gardener show, among others.

Grass Roots Stop
Location: Farm Bureau Building

  • The Farm Bureau Building was built 1970 & houses a variety information about Farm Bureau membership & the benefits that come along with it.
  • Missouri Farm Bureau has been a part of the partnership that brings Farm Families to the Fair for the past 68 years.
  • Missouri Farm Bureau was founded in 1915 making it the first state Farm Bureau in America.

Buttery Stop
Location: Gerken Dairy Center

  • The Gerken Dairy Center, sponsored & ran by Midwest Dairy, was built in 1999.
  • It is home to the famous “Butter Cow,” this year themed “Yee-Haw.”
  • The Gerken Dairy Center offers hand-dipped ice cream, shakes, & grilled cheese sandwiches.
  • Watch the milking demos at 9:30 am & 6 pm daily with the exhibition herd in the milking parlor.

Leadership Stop
Location: FFA Building

  • The FFA Building showcases the hard work for Missouri FFA chapters across the State with entries in Ag Mechanics, Field Crops, Horticulture/Floriculture, Fruits/Vegetables & more!
  • The FFA emblem is one of the most iconic images in the agricultural industry & dates back nearly 100 years.
  • The official FFA colors are National Blue and Corn Gold.

Clover Stop
Location: 4-H Building

  • The 4-H Building is home to projects from Missouri 4-H members across the state. From entomology & wildlife to foods & sewing to livestock & robotics – Missouri 4-Hers can do it all!
  • 4-H is the largest nonformal education program for youth in the U.S. with over 6 million members & 600,000 adult volunteer leaders.
  • The 4-H Building was constructed in 1905 & it original purpose was to be the poultry building. Then in 1958 it became the 4-H Building as it remains today.

Main Gate Stop
Location: Main Gate Tribute

  • The 16th Street Historic Main Gate was added to the Fairgrounds in 1939.
  • The historic gate is made up of three ticket booths spanned by steel arch work.
  • This one-third scale made its debut at the 2017 Fair to give Fairgoers an opportunity to take their photo with this iconic piece of the Fair all year long.

Preservation Stop
Location: Conservation Building

  • Featuring reptiles, amphibians & aquatic creatures native to Missouri, the Conservation Building showcases nature from the Ozarks to the Plains.
  • Watch live demonstrations from live raptors, Conservation canines, campfire cooking, native grasslands & more daily.
  • Be sure to get your picture taken with Smokey Bear, who has been around for over 80 years!

Chick & Bunny Stop
Location: Poultry & Rabbit Barn

  • Originally built in 1909 as an open-air structure for the exhibition of machinery, with the annex added in the 1920s, the building became the Poultry/Rabbit Building in 1949.
  • COCK-A-DOODLE DOO! There were over 1,300 poultry entries at the Fair last year.
  • DID SOME BUNNY SAY RABBITS? There were over 1,900 rabbit entries at the Fair last year.

Circus Stop
Location: Anastasini Circus Tent

  • The Anastasini Circus is a 9th generation circus family that performs a variety of acts including acrobats, aerialists, clowns & even diablos (Chinese juggling sticks).
  • The Anastasini Circus originated Italy where they started performing in 1877 & did not move to the US until over 100 years later.
  • Did you know this is not The Anastasini Circus’ first appearance at the Missouri State Fair? They are back by popular demand!

Bart Stop
Location: Bart’s Barn

  • Did you know that Bart is short for BARTholomule?
  • Find Bart strolling through the fairgrounds & join him here at 3 pm Aug 8-16 for Story Time with Bart!
  • Bart is a Missouri Mule which are known for their strength, hardiness, intelligence & even temper.
  • The Missouri Mule is celebrating 30 years of being the official animal of Missouri.

Pig Stop
Location: Swine Barn

  • The Swine Barn was built in 1922. It hosts swine & boer goat shows.
  • The west portion was designed to be as elaborate as the east, but was never completed. In 1960, a metal building was added on the west side to help with the symmetry of the building.
  • Over 3,000 head of swine & over 500 head of boer goats were shown at the Fair last year.

CFM Prize Stop
Location: CFM Booth in front of hte Grandstand

  • Founded in 1869, CFM is the oldest farm mutual in the State of Missouri.
  • Their mission is to provide quality insurance at a competitive price & to offer personal, friendly & dependable service.
