INTERESTED IN COVERING THE MSF YOUTH LIVESTOCK SHOW?

Here’s what you need to know

ADMISSION AND PARKING

There are no admission and parking fees. You will be able to come and go without those passes.

  • If you are covering cattle, please park and enter the fairgrounds through the Centennial Gate entrance (Gate 12).
  • If you are covering sheep, swine, goats or poultry, we recommend you enter the fairgrounds at Gate 8.

BOOTH SPACE

If you would like to have a designated space to set up while you are here, please let us know as soon as possible. We will need to know the date(s) you will need the space, how much space and if you need electricity. Outdoor spaces only will be available.

COMPETITION PHOTOS

The State Fair will not be posting competition photos this year. Members of the media are encouraged to come to the shows they would like to cover and take photos. You are encouraged to introduce yourself to the show staff/superintendent and the official Fair photographer(s) and work together so that you are not impeding each other’s work. You may contact the official show photographers for photos as well. The list of photographers can be found here.

COMPETITION RESULTS

Will be posted on the Fair’s website. A link will be provided on the home page.

CREDENTIALS/IDENTIFICATION

We will not be issuing credentials, but we do ask that if you are here in an official capacity as a member of the working media, you wear some sort of identifying badge and/or a logo’d shirt. When you are asking questions/interviewing, please be sure to identify yourself as a member of the press so that the individual(s) talking to you realize who you are.

DATES YOU WILL BE HERE

We ask that you let us know when you’re coming – just so we have an idea of who is here and when. Send an email to our Public Information Specialist, Cierra Monsees, at Cierra.Monsees@mda.mo.gov and let her know what days you will be on grounds.

GOLF CARTS FOR MEDIA

Will not be provided this year.

MARKETING/PUBLICITY STAFF

Will not be moving to the MEC Building this year and the Media Lounge will not be open. Marketing/publicity staff will stay in their full-time office location, located on the lower level of the fairgrounds administrative offices next to the Mathewson Exhibition Center. If you need to get in touch with us, please call or email:

Cierra Monsees, Public Information Specialist, 660-530-5610 or Cierra.Monsees@mda.mo.gov

Kari Mergen, Marketing Director, 660-530-5611 or Kari.Mergen@mda.mo.gov

NEWS CONFERENCES AND INTERVIEWS

At this time there are no plans to hold official news conferences. To request an interview with exhibitors, superintendents, Fair director or Commission, please contact Marketing Director Kari Mergen at 660-530-5611 or Kari.Mergen@mda.mo.gov.

PHOTO BACKDROP

Livestock backdrop areas are the property of the Missouri State Fair and are used by official Fair photographers for publicity use. Official Fair photographers have full jurisdiction over the space and will always be given first access when working.  After official Fair photographs have been completed, the photographer will make the space available for exhibitor’s/media use. The backdrop and props should not be rearranged or moved.

PRESS RELEASES

Relevant press releases will be sent through our email system to all registered media outlets. Make sure you’re signed up here.

SHOW RINGS

As always, the official State Fair photographer is the only photographer allowed in the show rings. Please be respectful of this as they are working on our behalf to photograph the shows.
